FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IS THERAPY / COUNSELING RIGHT FOR ME?

Therapy or counseling can be beneficial for anyone seeking a private and neutral space to process their thoughts, gain clarity, or work toward personal goals.

Consultations can support a wide range of issues and life situations. Some people may hesitate to seek therapy because nothing seems “wrong” in their lives - everything may even appear promising. Yet, if you are considering therapy or counseling, it is often a sign that this is the right time for you to explore and grow.

HOW DOES CONFIDENTIALITY IN THERAPY WORK?

Everything you share during sessions is completely confidential and will not be disclosed to anyone without your consent, except in rare situations involving extreme risk, which we will discuss during the initial session.

All materials - including your personal information, session notes, or any other records - are strictly confidential. Nothing will be added to your medical records.

HOW SHOULD I DECIDE BETWEEN
IN-PERSON AND ONLINE SESSIONS?

Whether you choose in-person or online sessions depends on your personality, preferences, and circumstances.

In-person sessions can be particularly beneficial, as the therapist can observe your body language and subtle cues that may not always be fully captured online. On the other hand, online sessions offer flexibility for those with busy schedules, long-distance living arrangements, or simply a preference for this format.

Research shows that online therapy can be as effective as in-person therapy for a wide range of issues and mental health concerns, making it a reliable and convenient option.

CAN I HAVE A SESSION IN THE EVENING OR DURING THE WEEKEND?

I offer evening and weekend sessions, though an additional fee may apply depending on the time or day.

If you need to schedule an appointment outside the standard hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00–18:00), please contact me so we can find a suitable time.

CAN I USE MY HEALTH INSURANCE TO COVER MY SESSIONS?

I work privately and independently of national health systems, so the therapy and psychological counseling I provide are not covered by health insurance.

WHAT IF I CAN’T AFFORD THERAPY / COUNSELING?

I believe that therapy and counseling should be accessible to everyone. If you feel that you could benefit from support but are unable to pay the full fee, please contact me, and we will work together to find a suitable solution.

HOW TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?

The easiest way to schedule an appointment is to book directly through my online calendar.

You can also fill out the contact form or send an email to: contact@luciefrank.com.

Another option is to contact me by phone at +41 76 769 46 66, either by calling or sending a message.

If I am unable to answer your call, please leave a message, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

HOW DOES THE INITIAL SESSION LOOK LIKE?

The initial session is slightly different from the regular sessions.

During this session, I will inform you about important details regarding our meetings, including confidentiality, pricing and payment methods, and the therapy process. We will also explore your situation and discuss the format of our sessions.

It is a space for you to ask any questions you may have and to clarify what you can expect from therapy or counseling.

HOW MANY SESSIONS AM I GOING TO NEED?

The length of therapy varies, and it is not possible to predict exactly how many sessions will be needed.

Some clients prefer to focus on specific issues and may choose to conclude therapy once these are resolved. Others discover new goals along the way and continue working on additional areas of growth.

Therapy can serve different purposes: a one-time conversation, a temporary source of support, or an ongoing process to optimize your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Your needs and preferences are always fully respected throughout the process.

HOW CAN I TELL WHETHER THERAPY IS WORKING?

Therapy is not always a straightforward or linear process, and at times, it may lead you to question its effectiveness. It is important to remember that experiencing a wide range of emotions is normal, and sometimes situations may feel more challenging before they improve.

With my clients, I regularly review progress to ensure that we are moving in the right direction. Ultimately, successful therapy is reflected in better-managed or reduced symptoms, achieving current goals, and increased self-awareness and personal growth beyond the therapy sessions.

WHAT IF I FEEL I DON'T WANT TO CONTINUE?

As with all relationships, a therapeutic relationship has a beginning and an end. The end of therapy often provides an opportunity for a positive closure.

There can be many reasons why a client may wish to conclude therapy, and all of them are valid. If you feel ready to end, my role is not to question your decision, but to listen, support, and help you experience a meaningful ending, so you can leave with positive feelings.
