FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IS THERAPY / COUNSELING RIGHT FOR ME?

Therapy or counseling is suitable for everyone who feels a need to find a private and neutral space to sort things out or to find their path towards their own goals.

Consultations can be helpful for a broad range of issues and problems. Some people feel the need for therapy but hesitate because nothing seems to be wrong in their lives; on the contrary, everything seems promising.
However, if you are considering therapy or counseling, most likely, you are in a phase when it is right for you.

HOW DOES CONFIDENTIALITY IN THERAPY WORK?

Everything you say in the sessions is confidential and will not be passed on to anyone without your permission (there are some exceptions in a few extreme risk situations, which we will discuss in the initial session).

All material (your personal information, short reports from the sessions, or other material) is confidential.
Nothing will be entered into your medical records.

HOW SHOULD I DECIDE BETWEEN
IN-PERSON AND ONLINE SESSIONS?

Whether you choose in-person or online sessions depends on your personality and preferences.

It can be more beneficial for the process if the therapist can see the client face to face and be able to catch their physical language and other nuances that the online world is not always offering.
On the other hand, online sessions are a great solution in situations with a busy or complicated schedule, when living far away, or simply when the client prefers this form.

Online therapy has been shown to be as effective as in-person therapy for various disorders and issues.

CAN I HAVE A SESSION IN THE EVENING OR DURING THE WEEKEND?

I do offer evening or weekend sessions, but there might be an additional charge depending on the time or date.
If you need to schedule an appointment out of the offered hours (Monday till Friday: 9-18 h), contact me to find a suitable time.

CAN I USE MY HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY TO FUND MY SESSIONS?

I work privately and independently from national statutory health systems; therefore, health insurance can't cover the therapy or psychological counseling I offer.

WHAT IF I CAN’T AFFORD THERAPY / COUNSELING?

I believe therapy or counseling is something that should be accessible to everyone.
If you feel you need or want therapy or counseling but can't afford to pay the whole amount, contact me to find a suitable solution.

HOW TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?

The easiest way to schedule an appointment is to book it directly in the calendar.

You can also fill out a contact form or send an e-mail to my e-mail address (contact@luciefroncova.com).
Another way is to contact me on my phone (+41 76 769 46 66), send

a message, or call me.

If I can't answer your call, leave a message, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

HOW DOES THE INITIAL SESSION LOOK LIKE?

The initial session is a bit different and specific from the other sessions.
I need to inform you about some specifics of our meetings: confidentiality, price and payment methods, a process in therapy, etc.
We will map your situation and discuss the form of our meetings.
It is also a space to answer any questions you might have.

HOW MANY SESSIONS AM I GOING TO NEED?

The length of therapy varies, and it is unfortunately impossible to say how many sessions will be needed.

Some clients prefer to work only on particular issues or problems

and when solving them, they don't wish to continue in therapy.

Some clients find new goals after achieving the initial ones.
You might need a one-time conversation, a temporary source of support, or an ongoing experience to optimize your health physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Clients' needs and wishes are always fully respected.

HOW CAN I TELL WHETHER THERAPY IS WORKING?

Therapy is not an easy process with perfectly linear progress, which might lead to questioning its efficacy. It is essential to remember that it is normal to experience a wide range of emotions during therapy and that things can sometimes worsen before they get better.
With my clients, I always periodically review their progress. Ultimately, successful therapy means that the symptoms seem better managed or decreased. Clients feel like they are accomplishing their current goals or raising their self-awareness outside of therapy.

WHAT IF I FEEL I DON'T WANT TO CONTINUE?

As with all relationships, a therapeutic relationship has a beginning and an end. The end of a therapeutic relationship often offers an opportunity to have a positive ending.
There might be different reasons why you might want to end therapy as a client. All of them are legitimate. And if you feel like that, my role is not to doubt that but to listen and help you experience

a good ending and leave with positive feelings.
